Ward Ritter has worked in the development and construction, property management and lending industries in California, Colorado and Nevada since 1976. Mr. Ritter is licensed in California and Nevada as a real estate broker and a general contractor. In 1986, Mr. Ritter founded Chartered Holdings, Inc., a privately held real estate investment trust that thru affiliates developed a presence in Southern Nevada, the central coast of California and in Boulder, Colorado. The Chartered portfolio consists of multi-family developments, both rental and for sale, high volume production tract housing, custom single family construction and remodeling/renovation, high end commercial office tenant improvements, and retail shopping center construction and renovation. In addition, Chartered has provided property management services for numerous homeowner’s associations, managed a large portfolio of class A apartment communities as well as retail shopping centers. In addition to serving as a parent volunteer for the Santa Barbara Soccer Club, Mr. Ritter served as president and a director of the Hope Ranch Park Homes Association in Santa Barbara, California; the oldest homeowner’s Association in the state, from 2004 to 2008.
Carol Ritter is a graduate of California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and minor in fine arts. Ms. Ritter is a California licensed general contractor and has built and/or remodeled/renovated a renovated a number of fine custom homes from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara over the last 20 years. She has also collaborated on a number of model home projects for Chartered Homes and carried out several independent design projects as well. Ms. Ritter is an internationally exhibited and award winning sculptor, having studied and worked with marble stone in Pietrasanta/Carrara Italy over the years. Carol has a soft heart and handy imagination for vintage properties and has been continually finding and refurbishing them since the 1980’s. She recently completed the restoration of a 1926 Monterey Spanish along with a second newer one in Santa Barbara’s Hope Ranch while raising her two children and supporting their school, favorite charities and entrepreneur husband Ward. Carol’s current project is the restoration of a 1920’s Dutch Colonial in The “Hill” neighborhood of Boulder, CO.
